THANK YOU SURVIVORville 2015 and Celebrate SURVIVORS 5K!

We’re transforming survivorship from a MOOD to a MOVEMENT – one step at a time!

The 3nd Annual Celebrate Survivors 5K Walk/Run will do just that: it celebrates survivorship as well as honors those who lost their cancer battle. With every step, we raise awareness for survivor issues and can raise significant funds to support our mission of EDUCATION, MOTIVATION AND LIFE APPLICATION!

Date/Time: Sunday,  June 7 2015 National Cancer Survivors Day

Location:  Public Square Park – Downtown Nashville

Time: 9:00am

The Celebrate SURVIVORS 5k Walk/Run is sponsored by our friends at the American Association for Cancer Research Foundation Runners for Research

This year, The Women Survivors Alliance is overjoyed to announce the 2015 Celebrate SURVIVORS 5K Walk/Run is now sponsored by our friends at the American Association for Cancer Research Foundation Runners for Research.

The Celebrate Survivors 5K is our signature walk/race event which will occur on Sunday, June 7th, 2015 – National Cancer Survivors Day – during SURVIVORville! This emotional event involves not just the survivors, but their families and supporting friends as a means of not just celebrating their life, but also provides a giving back opportunity. For the survivor, it is about celebrating their life accomplishments, whether it be completing treatment or honoring the family members of those who have stood by them during their diagnosis. Organizations and individuals form teams and raise money for the Women Survivors Alliance. Race proceeds are applied directly to the WSA educational programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the 2015 Celebrate Survivors 5K? We are excited to announce the 2015 Celebrate Survivors 5k will be on National Cancer Survivors Day at 9:00 a.m, through Downtown Nashville, Tennessee – also known as SURVIVORville USA!

What is the mission of the Women’s Survivors Alliance? Visit us at http://www.womensurvivorsalliance.org for a look into the mission of the Women Survivors Alliance.

Are donations and registration fees tax-deductible? Donations, absolutely! Registration fees are not.

How do I raise money for my team? There are many ways. From door to door campaigns to social media campaigns  – you’re limited only by your imagination! Visit www.crowdrise.com and search Women Survivors Alliance and Celebrate Survivors 5K. Set up your own page and GO TO IT! We are so excited about this event – we know you’ll have fun.

The 5K looks like it is connected to the 3rd Annual SURVIVORville.  I am not participating in the convention, but may I bring my entire family to the race? Of course! While our 5K funds benefit women survivor programs, we welcome individuals and families to support a survivor they know, raise money on their behalf and join us for a morning of celebration with the survivor attendees from the convention. Mix and mingle. Share their love and stories of triumph. Be on hand when many of the attendees themselves cross the finish line, looking the cancer beast in the face and saying, “This is MY 2nd ACT!”

May I bring my dog to the event? We love dogs, but discourage their presence on the race route for safety reasons. Of course, service dogs are always welcome.

May I wear my inline skates or ride my scooter or skateboard on the race route? We’re so sorry, but for safety reasons, skates, skateboards and scooters are prohibited.

Where and when is packet pickup? Pre-race packet pick-up will take place on Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6, 2015, from 10 am to 6 pm in the Tennessee Lobby of Gaylord Opryland Resort. See a SURVIVORville staff member for more information.

We’ll see YOU at the finish line!
