19 Jun New Focus Network (NFN) Launches To Cancer Survivors at SURVIVORville
New Focus Network (NFN), digital media broadcasting company headquartered in announced today it will officially launch its programming to the cancer survivor community around the country at SURVIVORville on Friday, July 21, 2017.
Inspired by the stories of survivors through the Nashville-based Women Survivors Alliance, New Focus Network was created to distribute positive and empowering lifestyle programming for those desiring a more rewarding viewing experience in today’s media culture.
“SURVIVORville seemed like the perfect place to showcase the programming of New Focus Network and honor those who inspired the idea behind the network,’” states Karen Shayne, Founder of the WSA. “With many cable owners cutting the cord, and a preponderance of negative programming, NFN has the opportunity to change the dynamic for a significant viewer segment. NFN provides positive programming via creative lifestyle segments, special series’, and documentaries of inspirational people among us.”
Staying true to their philanthropic roots, New Focus Network has ensured a key concept was at the core of the new company. NFN is a network that “gives back” with a percentage of profits benefitting worthy nonprofits, one being the Women Survivors Alliance.
New Focus Network features innovative programming and will also present special presentations of the WSA’s traveling stage show My 2nd Act featuring cancer survivors from around the country sharing their stories of their survivorship. My 2nd Act” follows the backstories of inspiring participants, and catches the emotional moments before each woman steps out onto the stage.
Other programming includes Positively Jessica, a docu-series based on the extraordinary life of a 14-year-old brain cancer survivor and SURVIVORville Honorary Co-Chair Jessica Meyer. Also on deck is A Happy Place, a series dedicated to finding one’s peace with Linda Ragsdale, a survivor of the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks and also SURVIVORville’s Honorary Co-Chair. Featured on the network will be the much-anticipated cooking show, The Chef and I as well as a home improvement show featuring breast cancer survivor, Laura Mac as Survivor Designer. Dr. Steven Eisenberg will launch Dr. Steven, a talk-show featuring incredible guests from best-selling authors Arianna Huffington and Dr. Mark Hyman to change creator, Leon Logothetis of “The Kindness Diaries” (Netflix). Rounding out the programming deck is Moments, a documentary of four adventurous friends travel the globe seeking to live life in the moment, experience new cultures, overcome obstacles, and share it with the world through their eyes.
